1% for the Planet
(Since November 2020 we have been donating 1% of our sales to the climate and environmental organisation. It means, that you contribute to green initiatives, when you shop here.)
We are part of 1% for the Planet
Through a longer period of time, we, as a business, have been interested in being part of more initiatives with a green focus - but where do we begin? We are convinced, that all initiatives towards a greener world is both welcome and necessary - and little is better than nothing at all! But we can't face the challenges on our own, and that's why we've become a member of 1% for the Planet.
As a member we are obligated to donate 1% of our gross income to actions that improve the environment - this means, that when you purchase one of our items, you automatically support the nonprofit environmental and climate organisations that are part of the movement.
Your purchase contributes to green actions
Our donation goes directly to relevant nonprofit organisations authorised by 1% for the Planet. To us, this membership makes a lot of sense, since we in cooperation with other companies and individuals are able to contribute to a greener future. Meanwhile, it gives you as a buyer the chance to purchase an item while contributing to greener actions.
To make a long story short, 1% for the Planet is a global movement founded in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard (founder of Patagonia) and Craig Mathews (founder of Blue Ribbon Flies). The intention behind the movement was to help finance environmental organisations, in order to be a valuable source in solving the world's problems together. This is done through counselling regarding strategies, networking between companies and nonprofit organisations as well as certifications of donations.
Today, the movement persists of a global network with thousands of companies, individuals and organisations, who all work towards a better future. As mentioned, as a company one is obliged to donate 1% of gross sales, which is afterwards split between the approved nonprofit partners. These work in the six central areas: climate, food, earth, pollution, water and wildlife.
